I have a full plate really, writing tracks, playing, recording and mixing. Of course, Ozone can be used for mixing as well and there's never anything wrong with learning or getting new gear if you feel it can do something for you. Simply because I feel the process is more important than the actual tools. While I accept we all need to have a go at some kind of mastering from time to time (I call that pseudo-mastering) and probably become better arrangers and mixers out of the experience, none should expect to have magically "better sounding" tracks by getting a plug-in nor more than anyone should expect to write instant hit tracks just because they get a great DAW.Īnd speaking of DAWs, I've chosen to learn to do any mastering I need to do with what's in Live now and what I have already rather than rely on great tools focused on mastering, of which I think Ozone is one.
